We all have that little voice in our head that sometimes tells us not to do something or to worry about doing a new thing. Did you know that you can push that fearful side away from you and feel awesome most of the time?
Our feelings are our guides, our intuition guides us through our days, nights, and throughout our life. So, if you want to feel awesome, there are things you can do to hush that negative little voice and have the more positive, vibrant voice come front and center.
Happiness is a choice. You can choose to look at the dark side of the situation or you can focus on the opportunity or the lesson that is ready to be learned. Sometimes things come into our lives to teach us a lesson, not to punish us.
You can choose to feel miserable about the one thing that you do not have, like work you enjoy or a significant other. Or, you can choose to focus on the fact that you have a comfortable home with healthy children. When you are going down a spiral of negativity, see if there is just one thing that you can focus on instead such as a past memory or a future hope. Make a choice to focus on that and to feel content in the moment.
Learn to Focus
Focus is a learned skill. If you seem to be a “Debbie downer,” try to incorporate things into your life that make you a bit more cheery. For example, place beautiful pictures of real life nature scenes on your office wall. These photos of fields of violets or beautiful sunrises will help you feel better and focus on the new possibilities each day brings allowing great things to happen.
Personal family photos can also help you retrain your brain to focus on positive memories and positive thoughts. Whatever you focus on will expand and take up more room in your life. If you make a choice every day to stand in sunshine, smile and think happy thoughts, you will get closer to your goals.
