Labor Pains - How Do I Find a Good Money Making Idea
QUESTION: I do not have a business as of now. My question is: How do I find a good money making idea that I can work with so that I can stay at home? I am currently working full time and have 2 small children. I need help. From: Karen Fronefield - GOONYCHK@aol.com
ANSWER: Finding a good idea for a home business or discovering a way to work at home in a job or freelance position is step one to becoming a homeworking mom. We have lots of tips to help you get started, but our first point is the most important one. Here goes:
IT IS NOT AS HARD AS YOU THINK.
If you think that it is not possible to come up with a good home business idea or find the telecommuting position or freelance position, you won't be successful. Have you ever searched for lost keys? If you know for sure that you used them to get in the door and they are definitely in the house, you will keep looking until you find them. If you are not sure that the keys are in the house, you will not give your search as much effort. It is possible to come up with a great home business idea and you also have an excellent chance of working as a telecommuter or doing freelance projects today. Once you realize this fact, your search will become more serious.
DON'T REINVENT THE WHEEL.
When you are looking for a business idea or ways to work a job at home, you don't need to start from scratch. The best way to be successful is to look around you and see what's already working for others. You have the best chance for success if you take a successful idea and change it, mold it and make it your own.
WHAT COMES FIRST, THE CHICKEN OR THE EGG?
Should you choose a product or service to offer first and then find interested customers, or target a market and find the best and most needed product or service? Either method can be successful if you remember that your business and your target market are a team. If you don't have a clear picture in your mind of who your potential customer is, you won't be able to market your offering in an effective way.
YOUR DECISION IS NOT FINAL OR EXCLUSIVE.
Finding the right idea or opportunity for you takes time and experimentation. Your first choice does not have to be your last. It is only when you begin to try ideas and register for free opportunities like the ones listed below that you can learn what is right for you. The right home-based work for you will not come neatly wrapped in a perfect package. Instead, as you work and do research, you will see your ideas evolve and take shape. You can do more than one thing at a time and see which one takes off first.

It is a proven fact that when you open your mind up to the possibilities your creativity will begin to flow and your eyes will see what you might have ignored in the past. Have you ever decided that you wanted a certain car in a certain color? If you have, you know that all of a sudden you see many of those exact cars on the road. This happens because you have instructed your mind to look for those cars and you have become more aware of what is around you. Here is another example: You may want a telecommuting or freelance job, but can't seem to find one.
