HAVE A GARAGE SALE ON AMAZON.COM
EBay was the go-to place to run an online garage sale. But, for certain types of products, you can sell on Amazon.com more quickly and for higher prices.
There are certain instances where eBay is the better option. However, if you want to sell used electronics, books, DVDs, VHS tapes, CDs, Blu-ray discs, and other media items, you can list them on Amazon today and have them sell right away.
Take note: Even if you list something on Amazon and it sells, you won’t have the money in your bank account right away. Your money will be stored in your Amazon seller account, and they will release it two or more weeks later. So, you can actually earn money by the weekend, and you don’t have to pay upfront to do it, but this is not the option for you if you need the money in hand.
It’s very easy to list your stuff for sale on Amazon. Go around your house and gather up everything you think you could potentially sell.
Then, search for each item on Amazon. You should find the “sell your stuff” button next to the items you want to sell on their product pages. If you have many items you want to sell for fast cash, then list them from your seller central account. You’ll type each item in one by one, choose the price you want to list them at (Amazon gives you suggestions based on what the competition is doing), and choose their condition.
Since you want to earn money quickly, you should set competitive prices. If you are willing to wait a little bit longer to see that money in your Amazon account, then you might consider pricing your items a little higher, but know that it could take longer to sell them.
Be truthful about the condition of your items. Customers will complain if the products don’t live up to what you described. You’ll find that most Amazon customers are very easy to deal with, especially when compared to eBay customers.
After your items sell, you will be responsible for shipping them to your customers. The good news is that you can use your Amazon account to pay for the shipping and print the labels right from your computer. You don’t have to pay any money upfront, and declutter your house at the same time!
